Position : Steward - Part Time

Reports to : Sous Chef(s)

Job Purpose : To provide, supply and maintain cooking utensils and equipment.

Compensation : $15 / Hour

Job Summary : As a Steward, or Dishwasher, you are the backbone of our kitchen operations. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and organized. You'll work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment to support the kitchen team and help maintain a smooth service flow. You are responsible for the upkeep of clean dishes, trashes, and miscellaneous cleaning projects throughout the kitchen. Additionally, assisting in other kitchen tasks as needed.

Duties

• Assists in food preparation.
• Maintains food quality by storing foods in designated areas, minimizing spoilage.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils, as well as segregating and removing garbage containers. Follows sanitation standards and procedures complying with legal regulations.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions. Troubleshoots breakdowns, maintains supplies, and performs preventative maintenance.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Maintains stock by assisting the chefs in keeping the kitchens in full working order, retrieving stock, and keeping cooking and serving utensils and plates clean and sanitary at all times.
• You will also be bouncing between the Beason Restaurant and our Banquet
