City / State Virginia Beach, VA Work Shift Third (Nights) Overview : Sentara Virginia Beach GH 4W Ortho / Trauma is hiring for a RN Unit Coordinator to join the team! Shift : FT 36hrs - Nights Unit Overview : The 3 West Ortho / Trauma unit at Sentara Virginia Beach General specializes in providing expert care for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and related complications. Our unit is comprised of 24 in-patient beds. Our patient population includes admissions from the Ortho Joint, Spine, Fracture, and Ortho / Trauma centers, as well as medical / surgical patients. The nursing unit enjoys a supportive team environment including resources such as a unit-based nurse educator, orthopedic navigator, respiratory therapy, PT / OT, Patient Care Technicians, Unit Coordinators, Charge Nurse, Team Coordinator, and manager. The unit has an active Unit-Based Partnership Council and participates in many hospital-wide Nurse led Councils. Job Description : Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. Education BSN (Required). MSN or higher (Preferred). Certification / Licensure VA or Multistate RN license in good standing. Specialty Certification (Preferred). Experience 18 months RN experience in a hospital setting required. Charge nurse experience preferred.
