THE POSITION :

Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Public Works Lead is responsible for the supervising / coordinating all tasks the Public Works Maintenance crew to include; appearance and integrity of the Colusa Indian Tribal facilities and roads.

The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Supervises and direct day to day operation of the public works crew.
• Performs as needed tasks which are required by the water treatment facility.
• Performs general maintenance.
• Performs painting, minor plumbing, stoppages and leaks, changing light bulbs and general clean-up.
• Responds to requests, inquiries and complaints for the tribal community.
• Assists with training and compliance of new employees.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
• Will be involved with managerial duties of any given day.
• Ensures compliance with established policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
• Maintains high confidentiality standards at all times. Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment.
• May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : High school diploma or equivalent

Experience : Two (2) years related experience preferable with general building construction maintenance. Minimum one (1) year of experience in maintenance and operation of water and / or wastewater systems.

Licensing and Other Qualifications :

SUPERVISORIAL DUTIES : May assist the Director with training new hires and incumbents, scheduling, assigning projects and tasks with Public Works Staff. May participate in the hiring and selection process and provide feedback on staffs performance evaluation.
