About the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD) :
The Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD) is a fully accredited school for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in nursery school through high school. The Indiana School for the Deaf is accredited by AdvancED Indiana and the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD). It provides services to approximately 342 students enrolled on campus. About 60 percent of the students live on campus during the academic year. ISD offers a full range of social activities, including sports, clubs, and organizations.
Salary Statement :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $31,668.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life :
The essential functions of this role are as follows :
- Provide excellent customer service to the guests to ensure the safety of all visitors.
- Educate customers on all property regulations and use customer service techniques to gain voluntary compliance.
- Manage responsibilities for employee safety and security during shift change and during transport and deposits of revenue.
- Patrol and inspect the property to ensure the security and safety of buildings, grounds, patrons, and employees.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of grounds and facilities, which may include playgrounds, buildings, or equipment such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc.
- Respond to emergency situations on the property such as missing persons, accidents, first-aid emergencies, domestic disputes, and alcohol-related problems.
- Respond to non-emergency property disruptions.
- Resolve property complaints and obtain voluntary compliance from guests for minor rule violations and disputes.
- Complete any required documentation including accident reports, incidents reports, individual statements, and daily patrol reports.
- Perform routine labor and grounds maintenance duties such as mowing, weed eating, picking up brass, removing trash, etc.
- Act as a backup for sales of campsites, resale items, sales of annual and daily entrance permits.
- Assist law enforcement and emergency personnel when called upon to do so.
- Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment :
Ability to make critical decisions under stress and potentially administer first aid.Mastery of customer service techniques and exceed customer expectations.Ability to operate park radios and / or cell phones according to policy.Working knowledge of how to protect natural and cultural resources from misuse or damage.Working knowledge of the property's safety programs.Basic knowledge of the unique natural and cultural resources located on the property.Ability to communicate with guests in a positive, professional, and helpful manner.Ability to perform a variety of routine tasks involving the care and maintenance of property buildings, grounds, utilities, vehicles, and equipment.Must be able to operate snowplow equipment, tractors with implements and other similar construction equipment.Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and maintain effectiveness with little or no direct supervision.Ability to work irregular work schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays.Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Supervisory Responsibilities / Direct Reports :
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
