Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Join a friendly and professional dental team in the heart of Portland! We're seeking a skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) who is passionate about patient care and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. In this role, you'll use your clinical expertise to support high-quality dental procedures, perform expanded functions, and help ensure every patient has a comfortable, positive experience

LOCATION : Portland, OR

SALARY

$25 - $30 / hr.

SCHEDULE : Full-time, Mon-Fri Mon, Thurs : 8 am-5 pm | Tues, Wed : 7 am-4 pm | Fri : 8 am-4 pm

YKEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist the dentist during procedures, performing chairside support and anticipating needs.
  • Perform expanded functions including placing fillings, taking impressions, and applying sealants and fluoride.
  • Take and process dental x-rays while maintaining proper infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide clear post-treatment instructions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and documentation in the dental software system.
  • Manage operatory setup, instrument sterilization, and inventory of dental materials and supplies.
  • WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :

  • Completion of a state-approved dental assistant program and valid EFDA certification / license per Oregon regulations.
  • Current Radiology / X-ray and CPR / BLS certifications.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on clinical dental assisting experience
  • Proficiency in dental terminology, materials, instruments, and familiarity with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix).
