The Preconstruction Manager leads all aspects of preconstruction, from conceptual estimating and cost planning to coordination with design teams, clients, and internal operations. This individual plays a key role in developing accurate budgets, preparing proposals, and ensuring that project expectations align with cost and schedule targets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full preconstruction process from proposal through construction handoffOversee estimating efforts, cost modeling, and design coordinationPrepare detailed qualifications, exclusions, and scope documentationServe as the main client contact throughout preconstructionTrack design progress and market conditions to maintain budget alignmentCommunicate cost or schedule changes to leadership with recommended solutionsDevelop trade bid packages and coordinate subcontractor outreachConduct constructability reviews, value analysis, and bid comparisonsSupport estimating staff in takeoffs, pricing, and proposal preparationMaintain consistent use of estimating and preconstruction software systemsQualifications
