Position Purpose
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance and repair of machinery equipment and plant infrastructure. Specifically they will coordinate the weekend maintenance requirements, plan, and manage projects to support meeting and / or exceeding established plant goals.

Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience; wood related preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervision experience; multiple departments.
- Minimum of 3 years in an engineering or related role.
- Must have experience in material flows, continuous improvement practices; and process analysis.
- Track record of successful project management.
Skills
Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment; Microsoft products experience preferred (Outlook, Word, Excel).Auto-CAD light proficiency is a plus.Experience in working in a team environment.Management style must be consistent with CITE Principles.Strong planning / organization and time management skills.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated problem solving skills.Highly detail-oriented and able to work independently.Experience with manufacturing control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs); ability to troubleshoot, program and optimize these systems.Experience with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or similar software.Education
Undergraduate degree in Maintenance / Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.Essential Functions
Overall coordination of Plant property and equipment maintenance.Ensure the maintenance of all milling, finishing and assembly equipment.Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs.Ensure use of and compliance with work order and PM scheduling and tracking systems.Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to support plant operations.Plan and coordinate department activities to support SQDC targets and meet or exceed client / customer expectations.Identify project opportunities, vet ideas and lead / participate in projects from concept to implementation and commissioning.Prepare project documentation including user requirements, engineering specifications, test documents, RFP / RFQ documents, purchase agreements and acceptance criteria.Prepare project financial documents including budgets, capital authorization requests and financial tracking reports.Participate on assigned teams and / or projects.Ensure departments perform tasks as outlined in Job Instruction Breakdowns, Quality Specifications, and Standard Operating Practices.Participate in hiring needs; employee selection and training process.Provide communication on departmental expectations, motivate team members, and identify opportunities for improvements.Provide team leadership consistent with company vision, mission, and CITE principles.Ensure policies are followed and provide guidance and discipline.Utilize resources to maximize performance to achieve SQDC goals.Establish individual goals for team members aligned with organizational goals and conduct performance reviews.Support and represent the company as a union-free environment.Provide a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping.Participate in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.Role model CITE and Working in Teams principles.Perform other tasks as directed by direct supervisor.Supervisory Responsibilities : supervise hourly and salaried employees in the assigned department and / or departments, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing, appraising performance, and addressing issues in accordance with laws and company policies.Scope and Expectations
Communications : read, analyze, and interpret business and technical information; develop presentations for production teams, plant level teams, or public groups.Mathematical Skills : apply basic mathematical concepts to manufacturing performance or financial performance; read a tape measure.Reasoning : define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions.Physical Demands : standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally; manual dexterity and mobility required.Working Environment : typical indoor manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise; safety glasses required; some travel; weekend maintenance supervision; weekend work required.Reports to : Plant Engineering Manager.Recruitment : may include phone, video and in-person interviews; offers contingent on background checks and / or drug screens.Benefits Package
