Pilot Plant Engineer

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join our Process Technology Team at our Calvert City, KY location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the global R&D function. This position will report to the Group Leader of the Pilot Plant and Catalyst Testing Lab.

Responsibilities

• Lead process development and scale-up projects of specialty products developed through the R&D innovation program
• Develop and evaluate alternative process options to facilitate decisions on product and process feasibility
• Direct technicians in the pilot plant to define process capability and evaluate process options
• Participate in plant trials to demonstrate and commercialize new products and processes
• Summarize and interpret process and analytical data
• Document and transfer new process technology to manufacturing
• Evaluate heterogeneous catalyst performance in laboratory scale flow reactors for various processes
• Maintain and modify bench scale process and laboratory equipment
• Comply with company procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures, and safety programs
