As the Financial Counselor , under the direction of the Director of Patient Access and / or coordinator, you will assist the uninsured and underinsured patient population in applying for public assistance programs. Ensure that all necessary information is collected and verified prior to billing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Verify patients' self-pay status
• Obtain accurate insurance information from patients
• Complete Mass Health, NH applications and / or Self-Pay as applicable
• Discharged patients are scheduled to come into the office and complete applications
• Will travel throughout the hospital helping under or non-insured patients.
• Candidates must be comfortable being in the ER, floors, bedside etc.)
• The person needs to be highly independent and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
