Responsibilities Position is based in a hospital Med / Surg Tele unit specializing in oncology Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with a wide range of solid tumor cancers Staffing ratios target 1 : 4, can be up to 1 : 5 Shift is three 12-hour nights (19 : 00–07 : 30), with variable weekend requirements based on unit needs Floating required to other Med / Surg Oncology units Unit cares for patients through cancer diagnosis, treatment, and transitions to end-of-life care Self-scheduling requests are submitted and reviewed before finalizing the schedule EPIC EMR is used First week of orientation is Monday through Friday on day shift Second week includes 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and preventing falls Care includes both oncology-specific needs and general med / surg issues Must complete Ohio-specific fingerprinting promptly after booking per credentialing compliance Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers Time off requests must be submitted prior to contract confirmation Former employees eligible after a 6-month waiting period; current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible Holiday coverage may be required depending on unit needs Professional scrubs required Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration Current BLS certification required Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Minimum two years of RN experience required Strong telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills required Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required ONS Chemo certification preferred Previous travel nursing experience preferred Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or supervisor Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-619639.
