GENERAL SUMMARY : \n\n

The Cardiovascular Specialties RN is responsible for identifying patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning care based on patient needs, and consistent with the patients expectation of treatment. Executes therapeutic physician or nursing-initiated interventions, and evaluates the patients response to care and the attainment progress toward patient outcomes. The Cardiovascular Specialties RN assists in all procedures performed in the Invasive Cardiology Labs. Through documentation and verbal communication, coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Performs Unit-based activities which contribute to a positive work and professional environment.

a. Assessment and ongoing assessment findings;
\n\n
b. Updated clinical priorities for documentation;

c. Therapeutic nursing interventions with specific attention to patient teaching and patients response to interventions and progress towards outcomes are noted.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
\n\n
\n\n
Graduation from a School of Nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Critical Care or Medical / Surgical nurse or equivalent required. Previous experience in hemodynamic monitoring skills and ECG interpretative skills preferred.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS :
\n\n
\n\n
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or certification within six (6) months of hire required.
