Family Practice physician employment in California : Locums Primary Care PhysicianLocation : San Mateo, California (Northern California South of the Bay Area)Setting : Geriatric Outpatient Clinic (FQHC Federally Qualified Health Center)Start Date : Late December / Early JanuaryContract Length : 3 months (with option to extend) Schedule

  • Days : 45 days per week
  • Hours : 8 : 30 AM 5 : 00 PM
  • No Call / No Weekends

Patient Details

  • Volume : ~14 patients per day
  • Population : 100% Medicare / Medicaid high need, high complexity
  • Age Range : Exclusively patients aged 60+ (many in 80s / 90s)
  • Language Diversity : Multilingual population bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
  • Support Staff : Strong RN and clinician support

    • Job Expectations

  • Continuity geriatric care (not a teaching setting)
  • Must be comfortable with complex public health / FQHC populations
  • Procedures : Pap smears, basic STD diagnosis

    • Requirements

  • Board Certification :
  • Internal Medicine Required
  • Geriatric Board Preferred but not required
  • Family Medicine Accepted for the right candidate
  • Board Eligible Case-by-case; must be current in practice
  • Experience :
  • Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience
  • Geriatric-focused care experience strongly preferred
  • Licenses / Certifications :
  • Active California Medical License Required
  • DEA Required
  • BLS Required
  • EMR : Epic must be proficient with fast charting
