Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health position requiring at least one year of independent home health experience and a valid state OT license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Home health setting serving adult patients in Lakeland, Polk County
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule from 8 : 00 to 17 : 00
  • Patient population includes med / surg, cardiac, ortho, post-surgical, respiratory, neuro, trauma, and advanced ADLs
  • Home skilled visits with a minimum of 6 points per day, typically 6-8 visits daily
  • Care provided to Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
  • Use of laptops, MiFi for internet access, and portable printers provided
  • Charting done via BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet; experience with Cerner preferred
  • Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on HomeCare office needs
  • Duties include evaluation, activities of daily living training, cardiac rehab, edema massage, feeding techniques, splinting, TENS use, ultrasound, orthopedics, prosthetics / orthotics, standardized assessment, joint mobilization, home exercise program development, and patient / family education
  • Responsible for billing, documentation, and safety / injury prevention
  • Self-scheduled hours allow for flexibility based on caseload and manager discretion
  • Must adhere to a 100-mile minimum distance from the facility to qualify for the position
  • Assigned solid color scrubs as dress code
  • Facility is smoke-free
  • Must pass a pass / fail EKG exam (up to 3 attempts)
  • Completion of electronic onboarding modules required prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Return staff policy requires a 1-year waiting period before returning as a traveler
  • No RTO accepted in contract; any time off must be discussed with the manager onsite
  • Travelers may float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby

  • Active FL or Compact OT license required; license required if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent, independent home health OT experience; 2 years preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable car required for home visits
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption form required
  • Seasonal flu shot required or declination with mandatory mask wearing
  • Must have experience with OASIS strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients as needed
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
