  • Location : Hagerstown, MD 21742 (Maryland travel nursing jobs)\n
  • Unit : Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care (IMC) Unit\n
  • Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 13 / 2025 – End : 1 / 12 / 2026)\n
  • Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00–07 : 00)\n
  • Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week\n
  • Estimated Weekly Pay : $1880 - $2020\n
  • Patient Ratio : 1 : 4\n
  • Weekend Requirement : 5 weekend days per 6-week pay period\n
  • Charting System : Epic EMR\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maryland or compact state)\n
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in IMC or Cardiac Stepdown nursing (2 years preferred)\n
  • Prior travel nursing experience required\n
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association preferred)\n
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system\n
  • Ability to manage a 4 : 1 patient ratio in a fast-paced cardiac stepdown setting\n
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (no exemptions)\n
  • Pending RN license accepted for qualified candidates\n

    • \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients with complex cardiac and medical needs\n
  • Monitor and manage cardiac drips, post-cardiac catheterization care, and telemetry monitoring\n
  • Perform blood transfusions, chest tube management, and ventilator care as needed\n
  • Administer medications and manage IVs, central lines, and PICC lines\n
  • Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services\n
  • Float within scope to other units as needed to support facility operations\n
  • Educate patients and families on recovery, discharge planning, and ongoing cardiac care\n
