Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer
Our client is seeking a Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer to oversee the design, coordination, and execution of I&C systems for industrial process plants, including power and instrumentation installations. The role involves leading engineering deliverables, vendor coordination, and supporting startup and commissioning activities while ensuring compliance with NEC and industry standards.
Job Description
- Work as an onsite I&C Engineer (Controls and Instrumentation Engineer) in a process plant environment based in Alexandria, LA, USA.
- Deliver designs and engineering packages related to power and instrumentation installation for industrial plants.
- Define the scope of work by discussing with customers, coordinate with the offshore team, and deliver the engineering deliverables. Collect all required inputs from the customer to complete the engineering design.
- Coordinate with vendors and the construction team to obtain necessary information for completing the design. Attend design reviews with customers and the construction team to secure approvals.
- Support construction and startup activities.
- Lead electrical startup of all process and packing equipment.
Skills Required
Experience as an Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer developing engineering design packages for industrial plants.Selection and design of controls and hardware for process plant instrumentation.Preparation of instrument datasheets, IO lists, wiring diagrams, and engineering information.Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems for industrial networks.Experience in LV electrical distribution design, power distribution panels, motor control centers for process plants, complying with NEC.Knowledge of control panel design as per UL508A standards.Experience in system commissioning and validation is a plus.Proficiency in panel engineering and instrumentation, including datasheets, I / O lists, loop and hookup drawings, control system architecture, and 3D model understanding.Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, especially NEC.Instrument selection for various field instruments.Inter-disciplinary activities like P&ID review, 3D model review, cable tray layouts, equipment layouts, lighting, earthing, load lists, substation layout.Experience in procurement deliverables such as material requisitions, vendor drawing reviews, and approvals for instrumentation and control systems.Education / Training / Certifications
