Job Description

Billing Specialist The Billing Specialist will play a critical role in managing financial operations related to engineering projects. This position ensures accurate billing, monitors project financial performance, and supports lifecycle management from initiation through closeout. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $25 and $34 / hr. depending on experience and education. Responsibilities :

  • Manage end-to-end project billing processes, including invoice preparation, submission, and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with project managers to track budgets, forecasts, and actuals throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain detailed records of project costs, revenue recognition, and contract compliance.
  • Review and validate time and expense entries for accuracy and alignment with project scope.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance billing efficiency and financial tracking.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of billing cycles, revenue recognition, and project cost tracking.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Deltek, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with government or multi-phase engineering contracts.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
