Overview
The Fire Alarm Tech II is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, programming, testing, and inspection of fire alarm systems campus wide. Works independently and exercises good judgment and discretion.

Qualifications, Credentials, And Competencies
This position requires a high school degree or GED. Must have 2+ years of experience as a Fire Alarm Helper or related experience and a good understanding of Fire Alarm Systems. Experience with Fire Alarms in the Maintenance or Construction environments is preferred. Must have an understanding of hand tools such as screwdrivers, cutters, electrical strippers, etc. Basic knowledge in Voice Evac operations is preferred but not required. Must be able to understand and follow instructions and work under limited supervision. Must be able to work well with the public and co-workers and present a positive attitude. Exceptional self-management. Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals. Urgency to grow and improve. Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and excellent computer skills are required. Clean and professional appearance. Must be courteous, detail-oriented. Self-motivated, diligent, trustworthy, with strong organizational and planning skills and well-developed communication skills. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform duties of the Fire Alarms trade in the Virginia climate. This position might require the use of and operation of aerial lifts or be willing and able to obtain aerial lift certifications, operate, and work from various aerial lifts and heights. Certifications obtained while employed by Liberty University at the expense of the employer will be reimbursed back to the University upon voluntary termination (resignation) for the first 12 months after acquiring it. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
