Litigation Paralegal Opportunity

A well-established legal firm in Downtown Baton Rouge is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join the team. Qualified applicants will have at least 5+ years of litigation experience in a mid to large size law firm.

This is a full time, direct hire position with pay starting in the range of $55,000-$70,000 per year, based on experience with flexibility for exceptional experience. This company offers GREAT BENEFITS!!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assists with the discovery process, including preparing for deposition, propounding and responding to written discovery and preparing for expert discovery.
• Oversees and conducts document reviews; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; tracks and reports on review progress and results.
• Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents
• Assists with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars and communicating effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff.
• Maintains timely and accurate timekeeping records.
• Organize relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation
• Prepare for, and attend, depositions
• Other duties include, but are not limited to, calculating and calendaring deadlines
