    • A Day in the Life of a Surgical Technologist :

    Responsibilities

  • The Surgical Technologist will work under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to ensure safe and effective conduct of invasive procedures.
  • The role ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintains vigilance for the sterile field.
  • This position ensures the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

    • Requirements

  • Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Must complete a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
