Compressor Commissioning Specialist I, II, III

Compensation :

• $50 - $100 / Hr. (Depending on Experience) Job Title : Commissioning Specialist (Compressor) I, II & III Location : Midland, TX Schedule : 8 / 6 rotation, 10-hour shifts, starts on a Thursday ; OT as needed (rotators)   Position Overview Lead (or support) commissioning and decommissioning of conventional and high-pressure gas compressors for new builds, expansions, and start-ups.
• Work closely with construction, operations, and vendor partners to execute pressure tests, facility walk-downs, PSSRs, and safe handoffs to operations.
• Key Responsibilities Commission & decommission conventional / high-pressure compressor units.
• Coordinate and witness pressure tests ; place new units online.
• Inspect new builds & expansions throughout construction; perform final inspections and PSSRs .
• Conduct 2–3 facility walk-downs during build phases to verify readiness.
• Learn and support daily gas compressor / facility operations; maintain good housekeeping.
• Perform basic troubleshooting ; identify, diagnose, and repair / replace equipment as directed.
• Maintain timely, accurate operations reporting and all items required for JBPE .
• Coordinate daily with Foremen, Compressor Operators, Mechanics, Lease Operators ; provide vendor oversight during start-ups.
• Participate in on-call coverage; drive to field locations in a company-provided vehicle.
• Execute special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate technological efficiency in tools and reporting.
• Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED (no engineering degree required).
• Mechanical or oilfield experience required ; 2.5+ years preferred (mechanic / operator background ideal).
• Prior exposure to compressor gas-lift operations preferred.
