St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Upper School Science Teacher , one semester leave replacement for Spring (early January-early June) 2026 .

St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. The Upper School is home to students in Grades 9-12 and is characterized by advanced inquiry, lively discussion, deep engagement with topics, a strong sense of community, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Salary Range : $22,500 - $29,115

Position Summary :
This is a one-semester, full-time appointment open to applicants with the knowledge, experience, and desire to teach science, including Physics 9 (an algebra-based Physics course for 9th graders that utilizes modeling pedagogy) and either Chemistry (grade 11) or Advanced Physics electives (primarily grades 11-12).
Candidates should have experience teaching science in a student-centered classroom. The ideal candidate will have experience with project-based learning and standards-based grading. As importantly, we seek candidates committed to developing and practicing cultural competence in their teaching.
The successful candidate will also serve as an advisor to a group of 8-10 students. They will approach their role as an advisor with a drive to better understand the emotional needs of their students and support a program where self-reflection, empathy, and flexibility are the goals.

A bachelor’s degree in science is required; an advanced degree in science or science education is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
