Diesel Mechanic – Pleasant Hill, Iowa

Location : 2500 SE 34th street

Pay : $29.00–$34.00 / hr DOE + Quarterly Bonus

Shift : 5 : 00 am–3 : 00 pm or 7 : 00 am–5 : 00 pm

Pay : $29.00–$34.00 / hr DOE + Quarterly Bonus

Shift : 5 : 00 am–3 : 00 pm or 7 : 00 am–5 : 00 pm

Responsibilities :

Perform truck and DOT 406 / 407 trailer maintenance services

Perform annual inspections and prepare accurate documentation

Communicate clearly when additional repairs are required or delays occur

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule : Morning / Day shift

Weekend availability required (some weekends, very rare)

Physical Requirements :

Ability to repetitively stand, walk, handle, reach, and firmly grasp throughout a shift

Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching above / below the waist, and button pressing

Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs

Must work safely with equipment and utilize PPE as required

Vision requirements : close, distance, color, and depth perception

Qualifications – Education :

High School Diploma / GED required

Technical school education preferred

Qualifications – Experience :

3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, including preventive maintenance and heavy equipment repair

3+ years as a trailer / tanker mechanic required

Registered Tanker Inspector preferred (training available if not certified)

Tanker experience and CDL preferred

Must have your own tools and toolbox (essential shop tools provided for use)
