Job Title : Senior Engineer – Modeling & Simulation

Job Description :
We are seeking a Senior Engineer with strong expertise in modeling and simulation to support our advanced research initiatives for a client. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to support product development through analytical modeling, finite element analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct detailed literature reviews to inform analytical assumptions and modeling approaches.
- Perform static and dynamic nonlinear multibody finite element analyses involving deformable contact, complex materials, and multi-physics phenomena (e.g., in vivo kinematics, manufacturing processes).
- Develop new simulation techniques and implement automation through custom programming when needed.
- Evaluate results of simulations to recommend changes in design, materials, or processes.
- Build and validate analytical models to explore research questions and enhance product understanding.
- Prepare high-quality technical documentation including regulatory reports (e.g. 510(k)), scientific abstracts, and peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams on the development of innovative technologies and medical devices.
- Analyze competitive technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and address unmet clinical needs.
- Interface with clinical advisors to gather input for research and evaluation of new technologies.
- Manage external research collaborations with universities and laboratories, including proposal review and coordination.
Qualifications : Required :
Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline.Minimum of 2 years of experience in modeling and simulation-based research within the medical device industry or equivalent.Hands-on experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, LS-Dyna), CAD software (e.g., Pro / Engineer, SolidWorks), and custom programming languages (e.g., Fortran, Matlab, Python).Preferred :
Master’s or PhD in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.Familiarity with musculoskeletal simulation platforms such as OpenSim.Strong understanding of mechanics, material science, and product development processes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author detailed technical reports and scientific publications.Proven ability to support research initiatives from concept through to practical recommendations and outcomes.
