Summary of Position

As an Industrial Simulation Developer at OTTO By Rockwell Automation, you will create and run simulations to optimize robot fleets and system solutions. As part of the Industrial Simulation and Analytics Services (ISA) team, you will act as a subject matter expert, lead modeling and simulation projects, and consult directly with and for our customers. The ISA team collaborates with Systems Engineering, Applications Engineering Project Management, and Customers to support solution design from concept to full system deployment. You will build material flow strategies (based on self-driving vehicles) for products in our arsenal and those yet to exist. Your goal is to develop accurate and robust simulations to evaluate design, lower risk, and enhance solution quality to fuel growth. You will report to the Simulation and Analysis Services Manager. This is a remote-based role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create discrete event simulations for material handling systems to establish equipment, layout and operation requirements, identify traffic bottlenecks, and gain insight on expected performance
• Consult with project leads, sales team members, and customers to understand requirements and collect inputs
• Analyze results and make recommendations for facility layout and material flow design
• Present simulation results to the engineering team, sales team, and clients
• Validate models against real-world data to maintain accuracy relative to the product portfolio
• Troubleshoot simulation issues and bugs
• Grow and improve the simulation library and internal templates for functionality, accuracy, scalability, and efficiency
• Collaborate with the development team to assess the impact of new features or products
• Recommend product feature and improvement ideas to Product and Engineering teams for greater system optimization
• Develop simulation models to assist Sales & Marketing in demonstrating company products and capabilities

For this role, the total target compensation ranges from 88,880.00 CAD to 133,320.00 CAD annually for Canada candidates and 97,520.00 USD to 146,280.00 USD annually for US candidates. Actual pay will be based on skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
