Responsibilities Work in a 19-bed Emergency Department with 3 fast track areas and 2 triage stations in an acute care hospital Standard ER patient population, no trauma, STEMI and Stroke receiving center Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required Float to other Sacramento area facilities may be required, including possible mid-shift floating Cerner EMR is used in the department Charge nurse present, generally not assigned to patients except for break relief Support includes two techs / EMTs per shift, majority paramedics, 24 / 7 RT and pharmacy, and social services available Bedside report at shift change; block scheduling not available Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia (DYS) exam prior to acceptance; up to two attempts allowed, prior Relias DYS accepted if completed within 12 months Sterile technique testing on Foley catheter and central line dressing change required during orientation Orientation consists of 1-2 days on the floor with a preceptor First to float policy applies to travelers Holiday coverage is required and rotates with core staff Navy scrubs required; undershirts must be navy, white, or black, optional navy scrub jackets permitted No ventilator management required in this unit Candidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year Psych holds are managed in the front area with security support Requirements Current and active CA RN license required at time of application Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (all must be current) Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Two professional references required : one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627263.
