Safety Manager

Role : Safety Manager Location : Washington, DC Employment Type : Full-Time Role Overview : We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of construction safety across multiple projects. The role requires daily travel to different job sites and ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities : Conduct pre-job safety meetings with subcontractors. Assist project teams with subcontractor onboarding, including collection of safety submittals and database entry. Conduct regular site safety orientations and meetings with teams and subcontractors. Perform site walkthroughs and inspections to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and ensure OSHA compliance. Maintain jobsite OSHA records and investigate incidents or injuries. Communicate safety concerns to subcontractor leadership and site teams. Maintain and update safety databases for all assigned projects. Required Education & Certifications : Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (preferred). BCSP certified or pursuing STS-C / CHST certification (preferred). OSHA 30 certification. First Aid, CPR, and AED certified (preferred). Experience : 3–5 years of experience in construction safety, ideally managing multiple sites. Familiarity with safety management in construction environments such as mobile cranes, tower cranes, scaffolding, fall protection, steel erection, confined spaces, cast-in-place, excavations, and pre-cast concrete erection is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and other applicable safety standards. Ability to conduct public safety briefings and stand-downs. Competency in identifying safety hazards and implementing corrective actions. Spanish fluency is a plus. Ability to travel daily between DC-Metro area jobsites. Physical Requirements : Moderate physical activity including walking on rough terrain, climbing stairs / ladders, and standing for long periods. Driving between project sites.
