Responsibilities Work in a 20-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a Level I Pediatric Trauma and Surgery Center Care for critically ill or injured pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood in a hospital setting Shift is 3x12 hour nights (19 : 00–07 : 30) with weekend requirements Float required within the hospital to NICU and Pediatric Units, but not to sister hospitals Block scheduling accommodations are not available unless otherwise posted Patient conditions include trauma, surgery, respiratory, cardiac, hematology / oncology, and neurologic disorders Bedside procedures may include central and arterial line placements, lumbar punctures, intubation / extubation, CRRT initiation / discontinuation, ECMO cannulation / decannulation, and chest exploration Equipment includes Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP Monitors, Artic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, and Baxer Prismaflex machines Uses Epic for charting and EMR documentation Scrubs provided for OR; no prints allowed Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, therapists, and other pediatric specialists Comprehensive care responsibilities for a diverse pediatric population with complex medical needs Must float within the hospital as needed; refusal may result in contract cancellation Return staff must have a 6-month separation before eligibility for rehire as a traveler All time off requests must be submitted upfront and are limited to two weeks Orientation includes billable online modules completed before start date Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no mileage or radius restrictions Holiday coverage is required as per unit scheduling Requirements Active OR RN license required (can be pending if application is submitted to the licensing board) Minimum 2 years of recent PICU experience required BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred Epic EMR experience required References from two supervisors within the last 24 months required First-time travelers accepted with CVPICU experience and minimum 2 years overall No background or license issues allowed Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required; no exemptions accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621281.
