Detroit, MI : 100% Onsite

Direct Hire - Full Time - Perm Role

$70K - $80K

  • 2nd Round : On-site with engineering leadership

    • About the Role : We're looking for a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer with a problem-solving mindset and strong fundamentals in mechanical systems. This role focuses on designing custom equipment from concept to production using SolidWorks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring manufacturability and cost-efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Design mechanical systems using SolidWorks 2022 (3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies).
  • Perform engineering calculations (torque, gearing, GD&T, drive trains).
  • Collaborate with sales, ops, and PMs during project planning and execution.
  • Source components and support manufacturing and integration.
  • Troubleshoot and continuously improve design standards and workflows.

    • Qualifications :

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years in custom machine design.
  • SolidWorks proficiency; SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical fundamentals and hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with shop and office teams.

    • Preferred :

  • Shop floor or machinery experience.
  • Industry exposure in aerospace, automation, or entertainment.
  • Familiarity with conveyors, lifts, or mechanical integration.
