Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 2 years of critical care experience and active MD or compact license for a night shift role.
Responsibilities
Assignment is in an ICU / CCU setting at a hospitalNight shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours (19 : 00–07 : 00)Float between units is requiredEvery third weekend coverage requiredCare for a range of critical care cases including surgical, multi-system organ failure, CVA / acute stroke, and ventilated patientsUse of advanced monitoring and equipment including Swan Ganz, ICP monitoring, CVVHD / CRRT, ECMO, Arctic Sun / Hypothermia protocol, BiPAP / CPAP, ventilators, and wound vacsResponsibilities include managing complex patients requiring advanced monitoring and multi-organ supportPre-employment modules and orientation training are required and may vary by specialtyMust adhere to all infection prevention and isolation protocolsReturn staff policy applies : former staff must be gone at least one year to be eligible as a travelerUp to seven days of requested time off is preferred during the 13-week contract, with no time off allowed in the first two weeksLocal candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a different rateHoliday coverage may be required according to the department needsRequirements
Active MD or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent ICU / CCU experience requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredExperience in surgical intensive care and with procedures such as 12-lead EKG, arterial / central / PICC line management, titration of cardiac drips, blood product administration, and emergency medication administrationCompetency in ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound careMust provide two supervisor references from within the last two yearsBenefits
