Position Overview
The Licensing Engineer will support the Licensing Manager and broader engineering team in preparing and maintaining all technical and regulatory documentation related to AMPERAs micro-reactor licensing efforts. This role involves detailed technical writing, data analysis, and coordination with design, safety, and fuel teams to ensure accurate and timely submittals to regulatory bodies.
This position is ideal for an engineer with prior experience in nuclear licensing or safety analysis , who is eager to contribute to the deployment of cutting-edge nuclear technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of license applications , safety analyses, and environmental reports.
- Develop and maintain the licensing basis documents , including design control, configuration management, and QA documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to collect and verify data required for regulatory filings.
- Perform technical analyses supporting safety and compliance documentation.
- Track regulatory commitments and assist in ensuring ongoing compliance with NRC and DOE requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits and regulatory interactions.
- Maintain version control and document management for all licensing records.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Nuclear Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , or a related field.
- 36 years of relevant experience in nuclear licensing, safety analysis, or regulatory documentation.
- Familiarity with NRC and DOE regulations (10 CFR Parts 50, 52, 70, and 830).
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering data and translate it into regulatory documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- U.S. citizenship required (export control compliance).
