Position Objective

The Vegetation & Restoration Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and beauty of our electric distribution system. This individual develops, maintains, and coordinates system maintenance programs including vegetation management, yard restoration, and oil spill remediation.

This position serves as the face of JCREMC to members impacted by these activities - explaining projects, addressing concerns, and ensuring work is done safely, efficiently, and respectfully throughout our service territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Vegetation & Restoration Coordinator will :

• Serve as the primary contact for members affected by vegetation management, yard restoration, and related maintenance work.
• Communicate clearly and courteously about project scope, purpose, and timelines - helping members understand how vegetation management supports reliability and safety.
• Provide education to members about safe vegetation practices, right-of-way maintenance, and how these efforts prevent outages and enhance service.
• Research, obtain, and maintain required permits, easements, and landowner permissions prior to work.
• Interpret and utilize plat books, GIS data, maps, and courthouse records to verify property boundaries and rights-of-way.
• Maintain accurate, organized digital records in accordance with JCREMC's preferred platforms to ensure data integrity for audits and reports.
• Conduct field inspections to assess vegetation, restoration needs, and identify hazards.
• Assist management with developing and updating long-term vegetation management, restoration, and spill remediation programs.
• Provide input on budget forecasts, contractor use, and equipment needs.
• Recommend innovative and cost-effective approaches that support environmental stewardship.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and member services to coordinate schedules and minimize disruption to members.
• Support outage restoration and emergency response efforts, including storm recovery mobilization.
• Assist with community outreach, reports, and presentations related to vegetation and restoration programs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position combines both office and fieldwork throughout the JCREMC service territory. Candidates must be comfortable working in varied weather conditions year-round, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.

Occasional evening, weekend, or emergency hours may be required, especially during storm response or outage restoration.
