Weigel Broadcasting is seeking a tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Programming Assistant . This full-time role, based in Chicago, supports a dynamic programming department responsible for over 1,600 hours of weekly content across stations including WCIU, ABC57, and CBS58 in Chicago, Milwaukee, and South Bend, Indiana.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, thrives in a multitasking environment, and is confident using a variety of digital tools. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to, working with Storer Information Management Systems (SIMS), submitting program titles to Nielsen, managing program feed schedules, and using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Sheets, Docs, and Forms. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Become proficient in our broadcast scheduling software (SIMS) to build and maintain accurate program logs.
Provide essential support to our fast-paced programming teams across multiple markets.
Use Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets to manage complex schedules and data sets.
Review and verify programming details to ensure flawless on-air execution.
Other duties, as assigned.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate / range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $20.00-$22.00 / hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical / dental / vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
