Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position in an acute care setting, requiring an active CA RN license and night shift availability.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 17-bed Med / Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospital setting
  • Care for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric, including ortho, diabetic, and standard med / surg cases
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4, with a maximum of 5 patients per nurse
  • Unit uses Cerner for electronic medical records
  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
  • First to float status applies
  • Pharmacy and respiratory therapy support are available 24 / 7
  • Participation in permanent staff holiday rotation required
  • Navy scrubs required
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care and telemetry monitoring for a broad range of patients
  • Support from house supervisor and unit techs for patient care and monitoring tasks
  • Floor-specific orientation provided over two shifts
  • Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique assessments if required during orientation
  • Past employees of CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity not eligible if directly employed within the past year
  • First time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates accepted; local pay rates may vary

  • Active and current CA RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg Tele nursing experience
  • Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
  • Experience with electronic charting in Cerner preferred
  • Ability to provide two professional references : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years, each including employment dates and rehire eligibility
  • Driver’s license copy required for consideration
