Dietz & Company Architects is full-service architecture firm based in Massachusetts, with offices in Springfield and Cambridge, MA. We are seeking a Project Architect or Project Manager with strong passion for design to join our collaborative and team-oriented hospitality design studio in our Springfield office.

Our hospitality studio is a fast-paced, high performing design studio focusing on restaurants, bars, hotels, and casino project types. Our work spans 10 US jurisdictions, including projects at prominent resorts on the Las Vegas strip!

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field of study
  • 5-8+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design, with 3-5+ in the hospitality design sector. Preferred experience includes restaurants, bars, hotels, and casino project types
  • Experience independently leading small-medium sized projects; or experience in a Job Captain role for medium-large projects
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced design environment
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, audio visual, and other specialty consultants.
  • Working knowledge of high-end material finishes, lighting concepts, and amenities typically found in hospitality environments.
  • Experience in resolving complex technical and design issues.
  • Generally proficient using Autodesk software, with high proficiency using Revit in a professional work setting.
  • Generally proficient in using SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Effective communicator, collaborative, and team-conscious mentality
  • Strong presentation skills in a group setting
  • Advanced knowledge of building construction, building code, technical detailing, and finish detailing

Responsibilities :

  • Direct and coordinate the project team, including consultants, throughout all phases of design
  • Actively participate in the production of Revit models and design drawings for multiple projects
  • Maintain pace of production, and delegate design tasks within the architectural team as needed to progress the work
  • Serve as the primary contact for client, consultants, and other project partners
  • Strategize project delivery and deliverables for assigned projects
  • Evaluate creative vision for the project through the lens of constructability, and develop appropriate architectural solutions
  • Participate in the management of project budgets and project staffing
  • Educate and mentor junior-level staff in solving complex problems
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
