Job Description : Job Summary
We are seeking a SAFe Release Train Engineer / Agilist Lead Consultant to drive Agile transformation and delivery excellence. The role requires managing large programs with dependencies across multiple teams while balancing Agile values with traditional project management. This hybrid position involves acting as a Release Train Engineer, Agile coach, and leader, helping teams navigate Agile methodologies using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The candidate will facilitate key Agile ceremonies, ensure cross-team coordination, and provide insights to leadership on program status and improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a large program with dependencies across multiple parallel programs
- Perform as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
- Plan and lead quarterly Program Increment (PI) Planning sessions
- Facilitate PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt sessions
- Work with Product Management and Business Owners to coordinate PI Planning
- Assist Product Management with solution vision, roadmap, and backlog refinement
- Collaborate with the Solution Train Engineer (STE) and represent the ART in Solution Train Sync
- Provide updates to stakeholders and business sponsors on overall program status
- Work closely with the PMO and collaborate with project managers
- Support triage and resolution of critical issues
- Ensure cross-team and cross-program coordination
- Provide relevant metrics to track ART progress and drive continuous improvement
- Educate and coach teams, stakeholders, and leaders on Agile scaling and SAFe
- Support Agile transformation efforts and reinforce best practices across teams
- Identify and log risks related to business and architectural decisions
- Prepare and deliver effective communications for internal and client teams
- Track, mitigate, and resolve issues, risks, and blockers impacting ART performance
- Assist teams in dependency management and interlocking solutions / timelines
- Conduct hands-on analysis, design, testing, and change management as needed
- Lead ART Problem-Solving Workshops and support root cause analysis
- Strengthen the presence of the ART as an Agile center of excellence
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a Project Manager across all phases of the SDLC5+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE)5+ years of experience working in large consulting environments5+ years of experience with Agile Project Management Tools (Azure DevOps, Jira Align, Rally, etc.)5+ years of experience in Agile methodologies and service-oriented environments5+ years of experience coaching clients on Agile transformationProven experience managing large, complex programs successfullyAbility to work effectively with teams, individuals, and executives across different levelsPreferred Qualifications
