- Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa or compact state)\n
- BLS certification (required prior to first shift)\n
- ACLS certification (required prior to first shift)\n
- Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside critical care or medical-surgical nursing experience\n
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills\n\nMed / Surg RN Responsibilities\n
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients\n
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation\n
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees\n
- Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital policies and clinical safety protocols\n
- Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs\n
- Initiate discharge planning and provide patient / family education from admission\n
- Accurately document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record\n
- Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare providers\n
- Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit team-building activities\n
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation\n
