About the Role :
Skillforce is seeking Journeyman Electricians for ongoing projects in the Leesburg, VA area. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects by adhering to electrical codes, blueprints, and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to deliver high-quality electrical work on schedule. This role demands a strong understanding of electrical theory, hands-on skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by the state of Virginia.
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working as a Journeyman Electrician in construction or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with low voltage systems, including fire alarms, security systems, and data communications.Familiarity with green building practices and energy-efficient electrical systems.OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety certification.Experience using advanced electrical testing equipment and software.Strong communication and teamwork skills demonstrated in previous construction projects.Responsibilities :
Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.Ensure all electrical installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate electrical work with other trades and meet project deadlines.Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and repair or replace defective components efficiently.Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.Benefits :
