American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU Float position requiring a WA or compact RN license and advanced critical care competencies.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital setting, floating between ICU, ED Boarders (inpatients only), all MedSurg units, and Observation unitPrimary assignment includes adult ICU patients with ratios of 1 : 1 or 1 : 2, and may float to PCU or MedSurg areas with appropriate patient ratiosNight shifts are required with a schedule that includes every other weekend or the potential for every weekend shiftsNo call or standby requirements for this positionEpic EMR is used for documentation; Epic experience is preferredCommonly care for high-acuity, critical care patients, including those requiring Swans, IABP, and Impella devicesRequired to titrate sedation, vasoactive, and paralytic drips in ICU, PCU, and ED unitsRNs must be able to read telemetry strips on all unitsFloat ICU RNs may be assigned to any included unit based on staffing needsOrientation includes one onboarding day with the manager and two shifts with a float pool memberProfessional scrubs of any color are allowed; business casual attire may be required for trainingSupport structures such as charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse aides (as available) are present on unitsHoliday shift coverage is required as neededFirst-time travelers are eligible to applyReturning candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA RN license or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum two years of ICU nursing experience requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are requiredAbility to provide care for patients with Swans, IABP, and Impella devicesCompetence in titrating critical care drips and reading telemetry stripsMust submit two professional references : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license required\n Benefits\n
