About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Site Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for a ground-up, wood-frame multifamily development in Poughkeepsie, NY . The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with hands-on experience managing construction sites, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Project Oversight

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Supervise subcontractors, coordinate materials, and monitor daily construction operations to ensure timely progress.

Schedule & Workflow Management

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules to meet key milestones.
  • Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.

    • Budget Control & Value Engineering

  • Monitor and manage on-site budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising quality or safety.

    • Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance

  • Enforce strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance across all project phases.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all work meets quality standards and design specifications.

    • Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure productivity, safety, and quality performance.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between on-site personnel and project management teams.

    • Construction Documentation

  • Maintain daily logs, progress reports, change orders, and safety documentation.
  • Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project ) for tracking progress and reporting.

    • Qualifications

  • Experience : 35+ years in construction management or site supervision, with a strong background in wood-frame residential or ground-up construction .
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in Procore , Microsoft Project , and Microsoft Office Suite .
  • Education : Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering , or related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted).
