Description
Join our amazing team as a Before & After School Care Counselor. This position has flexible scheduling, no weekend hours, a fun working environment and offers great experiences working with children! Counselors lead a group of children through activities before and after school during 2025-2026 school year at a local elementary school in Northbrook School District 27, Northbrook / Glenview School District 30 and West Northfield School District 31.
This position runs through June 2026 with opportunities for employment as a summer camp counselor and continued employment during the 2026-2027 school year.
Pay & Schedule :
$15.00 - $20.00 Per Hour (DOQ)
This is a part-time seasonal, non-exempt position.
7 : 00 AM - 8 : 45 AM or 2 : 15 PM, 2 : 45 PM, 3 : 00 PM, or 3 : 30 PM - 6 : 00 PM

Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age and have some experience working hands-on with children; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability and skills.
Skills & Abilities
Work well with children, parents and Park District staff
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Become CPR and AED Certified
Knowledge
Hands-on experience working with children
District safety policies and procedures
Recreational activities to include sports, games, arts and crafts, music, dance, swimming (Summer camp / field trips)

The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Employee is allowed and encouraged to use manual assists for lifting above 40 lbs. as a guideline. Working in teams will also allow workers to have assistance with heavier activities at various sites.
Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
