As a Security Professional - Retail Site - Weekends in Yaphank, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a retail location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will conduct regular patrols, interact with visitors and staff, and deliver exceptional customer service while addressing security-related concerns.

Position Type : Part Time

Pay Rate : $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule : DayTimeSat05 : 30 PM - 11 : 30 PMSun05 : 30 PM - 11 : 30 PM

What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.

Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.

Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or incidents as outlined in post orders and company guidelines.

Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and maintaining a visible presence in the location.

Support loss prevention efforts by being attentive to activities within the retail environment and reporting any concerns to management or law enforcement as needed.

Work collaboratively with store personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal team members to promote a positive atmosphere and address any security-related concerns.

What We're Looking For :

Availability across various days and shifts

Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments

A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company

Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements :

Customer service experience is preferred.

Experience with loss prevention is preferred.

Experience with alarm panels is preferred.

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
