Unit Description – OR RN

Its a Level II Trauma Center with a busy 25-case OR handling a wide range of specialties including Ortho (total joints & trauma), Neuro, Vascular, Robotics, General, GU, and GYN . The facility is not an ASC and has in-house anesthesia coverage 24 / 7 .

Shift Info :

Schedule : No block scheduling; call required (up to 6–8 shifts per 6-week period, including nights, evenings, weekends)

Weekend coverage : Every other weekend

Orientation : 40 hours

Scrubs : Provided

Systems & Equipment :

EMR : EPIC

Medication : Pyxis

SBAR communication

Trauma team on call

Night shifts typically staffed with 2 (1 RN / 1 ST or 2 RNs – one scrub)

Required Experience & Skills :

Minimum 3 years OR RN (5 years preferred)

Trauma, Ortho, General, Vascular, Neuro, Plastics, ENT experience required

Must be able to scrub and circulate

Must be willing to take call and float as needed (Queen, Petaluma Valley, Healdsburg)

Previous Level I / II Trauma experience preferred

Certifications :

BLS & ACLS required

CNOR preferred

✅ Patient Age Group : Neonates to Geriatrics

✅ Traveler Friendly : Yes (accepts 1st time travelers)

Call distributed equally among staff every 6 weeks

May be required to cover one night shift during contract

Pre-approved time off : 1 request per contract
