Position Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Systems Analyst to support the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) in maintaining compliance across its IT systems, applications, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will contribute to a robust security compliance program that aligns with federal mandates, NOAA / DOC policies, and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Audit Program Development :

Assist in designing and executing a comprehensive audit program, including technical security assessments, configuration compliance reviews, and vulnerability assessments tailored to NMFS's IT environment and regulatory requirements (e.g., FISMA, Privacy Act).

Evaluate existing NMFS IT security policies and procedures, offering recommendations to enhance their effectiveness and ensure alignment with federal regulations and industry best practices.

Generate clear, detailed, and actionable audit reports that document findings, categorize risks, and provide practical remediation recommendations. Support tracking and follow-up on remediation activities.

Provide expert guidance on interpreting and applying federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks, including the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), FISMA reporting requirements, and privacy regulations.
