Field Superintendent, Development

Level Recruiting is seeking a Field Superintendent to work with a construction company that is bringing an innovative approach to address the housing crisis through the building of rapidly deployed ADU’s that exemplify quality construction with a minimum impact on the customers time and space. This client already has a pipeline of work and with solid venture capital backing to support growth, they are set to rapidly scale in the future.

As Superintendent you will help create our construction processes and train future employees. With a high volume of work that takes involves moving quickly from one location to the next, this role will require hands-on leadership and someone who is strong on management skills like documentation, scheduling and more,

Job Duties

  • Support 4+ projects at different stages
  • Plan construction phases and help find vendors
  • Run daily operations at multiple job sites (site setup, grading, utilities, foundations, landscaping, completion)
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure work meets the client’'s standards
  • Keep projects on schedule and solve problems
  • Create daily reports, take photos, document safety, and write weekly progress reports
  • Check quality and make sure work follows California building codes, safety rules, and inspections
  • Track paperwork, material deliveries, changes, and punch lists until project completion
  • Keep sites safe through safety meetings, records, and clean job sites
  • Work with Development Manager, Project Engineer, and Manufacturing / Installation teams
  • Create best practices, train staff, and improve processes
  • Coordinate with Installation team for modular home materials and logistics
  • Document quality and take progress photos / videos
  • Think about how to improve processes for future hires

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of construction leadership as Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent (preferably residential)
  • Experience managing multiple residential construction sites at once
  • Strong skills reading blueprints and plans
  • Experience with residential construction : site work, wood-frame construction, foundations, utilities
  • Familiar with construction software : Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project / Excel, Openspace
  • OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid / CPR, valid California driver's license
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety standards
  • Great communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to work at multiple sites
  • Interest in startup equity and mission-driven work
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering
  • Experience with modular construction workflows
  • California contractor's license
  • Additional OSHA certifications
  • Engineering license or working toward one
  • LEED or sustainability knowledge
  • Bilingual skills
