Why This Role Exists
A major safety services company was recently awarded a $16 million project and is seeking a Project Manager to oversee it from start to finish. The role focuses on supporting valve and pipe installations as well as post-installation maintenance. This is a 2-year project with potential extension to 3 years.
Mission
The Project Manager will join a safety-conscious team and be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising on-site personnel during the project. This role includes managing a team of 6–7 individuals based in Houston, with the possibility of leading additional future projects.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including scheduling, managing delays, and implementing solutions.
Collaborate with the sales team to meet client expectations and with supervisors on scheduling and performance.
Manage project billing and resolve customer-related issues.
Lead safety training sessions, including respirator fit testing and SCBA training.
Procure and manage equipment and materials for on-site operations.
Hold the project team accountable, enforce performance standards, and support professional growth.
Ensure strict adherence to company procedures, safety protocols, and project documentation (designs, drawings, material data sheets).
Must-Have Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, or related construction project management. Supervisory experience preferred.
Local to Brownsville or surrounding areas.
Willing to travel to customer sites, including short-term, long-term, out-of-town, and offshore projects.
Proficient in Office and other database software; quick learner of new applications.
Strong commitment to safety, health, and compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
Experience managing budgets and cost control.
Able to prepare accurate written communications and reports.
Certified and fit-tested for PPE, including respiratory breathing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications / Plusses
Industry fire experience (Fire Tron, Code Red Safety, Fire Troll, etc.)
TWIC card or other safety certifications
PMP Certification
State Fire Marshal and NICET Level II certification
