Role Description
This full-time on-site role is for a Manager / Sales position at our retail rug store in Minneapolis, MN. The Manager / Sales will be responsible for overseeing daily sales operations, managing customer service interactions, and assisting with business planning. This role involves maintaining the showroom, providing expert advice on products, closing sales, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Manager / Sales professional to lead the operations and sales of our luxury retail rug showroom. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven sales background in high-end or design-driven retail, and the ability to deliver an exceptional client experience while managing staff and daily store operations.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Store Management
- Oversee daily store operations, ensuring a polished and professional showroom environment.
- Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Manage visual merchandising, showroom presentation, and product rotation.
- Handle customer inquiries, transactions, returns, and service issues.
- Ensure smooth store operations including scheduling, cash reconciliation, and compliance with policies.
Sales & Customer Engagement
Provide expert product knowledge on rugs (styles, origins, materials, craftsmanship).Use a consultative sales approach to guide customers in selecting rugs that fit their style and needs.Build and maintain long-term relationships with retail clients, designers, and trade professionals.Manage client relationships using CRM systems to encourage repeat business.Upsell and cross-sell products and services to maximize revenue.Business Development & Marketing Support
Organize and oversee in-store promotions, seasonal events, and showroom activities.Develop and strengthen relationships with designers, architects, and trade accounts.Support marketing initiatives to increase showroom traffic and client engagement.Financial & Administrative
Track sales performance and prepare regular reports.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and managing expenses.Monitor inventory and coordinate with vendors and warehouse staff.Qualifications
5+ years of retail management or luxury sales experience (rug, furniture, or home décor industry preferred).Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals.Strong leadership and team management skills.Knowledge of inventory management and POS / CRM systems.Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Passion for design, textiles, and high-end retail products.Compensation & Benefits :
