Sr PostgreSQL DBA

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior PostgreSQL DBA with 12+ years of experience in RDBMS platforms, primarily supporting large enterprise environments.
• Lead the design, implementation, and management of PostgreSQL database architectures.
• Perform advanced PostgreSQL database administration, including backup, recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Develop and automate scripts using Linux Bash and Shell scripting for database management and operational tasks.
• Utilize PostgreSQL management and monitoring platforms for optimal database performance and availability.
• Migrate databases and applications from Oracle to PostgreSQL, including conversion of PL / SQL to PL / pgSQL.
• Leverage strong Oracle DBA skills to support migration and coexistence activities.
• Collaborate with Java full-stack development teams as needed for database integration.
• Apply excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members, maintaining strong documentation.
• Ensure quality delivery of database projects with an emphasis on first-time-right and zero defects in production.
• Work onsite in Omaha, NE at Union Pacific Railroad as required by the client.
• Preferred for candidates with local experience in Omaha, NE.
