The Revenue Strategy team is excited to announce the opening of our Market Analyst Entry position. In this role, you will be part of a team of subject matter experts in load research, utility forecasting, pricing and data analytics. You will be proactively engaging with other peers, managers, directors across SMUD and consultants to analyze data relevant to load forecasting, distributed energy resources (DERs), customer programs, and innovative rate designs. The team is responsible for the development and completion of SMUD's sales and long-term load forecasting scenarios and creating forecasting outlooks in support of the clean energy vision. Your work in this area plays a highly visible role in SMUD's 2030 Zero Carbon Plan. SMUD implemented a full roll out of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) over a decade ago, you will have access to AMI load data using SAS and Metrix ND to perform analytical work. You will be developing regression models for energy demand, incorporate future DERs into the forecasting scenarios, and working closely with Pricing, Budget Office, Information Technology, Enterprise Strategy and Customer and Grid Strategy.
NOTE : This position will require on-site work three days a week at SMUD Headquarters located at 6201 S Street, Sacramento CA 95817.
Purpose
Provide analysis and technical support for producing the customer, load and demand forecasts, load research and related assessment, and program evaluations.
Nature and Scope
This classification is comprised of two levels : Level E is the entry-level where incumbents are provided formal training and / or certification for progression to the journey-level of the classification. The incumbent is promoted / progressed to the journey level J upon successful completion of all training and / or certification requirements for the classification. Incumbents hired at the entry-level are required to successfully progress to the journey-level within 18 to 60 months, depending on the length of the training and / or certification program. If an employee is unsuccessful with progressing to the journey-level they will return to last class held or separate from SMUD.
