Job Description
Title : Adjunct Faculty, Business (Multiple Vacancies)
Unit : DCE adjunct faculty
Department : Business
Reports to : Dean of Business, Legal Studies, Public Service & Education
General Summary : This position is for an engaging and knowledgeable instructors to teach courses in Business, Marketing, and / or Management Information Systems (MIS) at the community college level. The role involves delivering in-person and / or online instruction at our Bedford and / or Lowell campus, creating a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for success in their careers.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach and Engage : Deliver clear and engaging instruction in business, marketing, and / or MIS courses. This includes explaining complex concepts, using real-world examples, and providing relevant, hands-on assignments to help students apply what they learn.
- Develop Curriculum : Design and develop course learning outcomes and materials such as syllabi, lectures, projects, and assessments that align with program learning outcomes. This includes integrating practical MIS applications and staying current with industry trends in areas like digital marketing analytics, customer relationship management (CRM), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Support Student Success : Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, monitor their progress, and offer support when needed. Maintain accurate records and use assessment data to improve teaching methods and course content.
- Professional and Collaborative : Demonstrate professional conduct, ethics, and collegiality in all interactions with students and colleagues. Adhere to all departmental, college, and accreditation policies. As an adjunct faculty member, you are welcome to participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
A Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field.A minimum of two years of professional experience in business, marketing, or MIS, with demonstrated work in areas such as marketing strategy, digital marketing, information systems, market research, or branding.Prior teaching or training experience (e.g., adjunct instruction, corporate training, workshops).Proficiency with technology relevant to teaching, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Blackboard or Canvas, as well as digital marketing and MIS tools.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage students and provide clear, concise feedback.Current knowledge of trends in marketing and information systems, including data analytics and visualization using software like Tableau and Power BI, database management systems (DBMS) including proficiency in SQL, SEO, social media tools, and consumer behavior.Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at a community college.Experience designing online or hybrid / blended courses.Professional experience integrating MIS solutions into business or marketing practices, including data analytics, CRM, ERP, or business intelligence platforms.Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, SEO tools, content management systems (CMS), and social media management platforms.Coursework or professional background in data analytics, marketing research, or digital advertising.Bilingual skills a plusAdditional Information
Salary Range : DCE adjunct faculty members are paid in accordance with the DCE salary step schedule which is as follows :
Step 1- $1,397 per creditStep 2 - $1,487 per creditStep 3 - $1,585 per creditStep 4 - $1,688 per creditLocation : Lowell & Bedford Campus, as needed
Expected Start Date : January 2, 2026
