Job Summary :
As a Work Area Lead, you will be responsible for supervising a small sub-area of a distribution operation. You will train employees, oversee inventory accuracy, manage order quality, and ensure daily shipping targets are met. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to resolve discrepancies, and a focus on safety and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
Assign employees to workstations and monitor productivity
Ensure teams meet output and order accuracy targets; escalate issues when needed
Prioritize workload to align with daily pickup and shipping deadlines
Train new hires on safety procedures and work instructions
Audit orders and finished goods for accuracy and quality
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Support KPI investigations and assist with corrective action plans
Conduct and document process audits to support Zero Defect initiatives
Assist with root cause analysis of quality / accuracy issues; recommend retraining if needed
Perform clerical tasks including reporting, recordkeeping, and daily performance recaps
Input data into systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP preferred)
Follow all GMP and safety standards
Required Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of distribution or quality coordinator experience preferred
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work overtime including weekends
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have Experience :
Experience with SAP systems
Prior leadership in distribution or logistics environments

Safety and compliance adherence
Inventory troubleshooting and audit management
Preferred Skills :
Strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
Process improvement and KPI analysis
Root cause analysis and corrective action planning

Ability to navigate in systems for auditing and reporting
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
